Where is Migis Lodge?
Migis is located in the southwest of Maine (40 minutes from Portland), on the coast of Sebago Lake. Migis Lodge is an over 100-year old resort with 35 rustic cottages are situated among 135 acres of pine forest. Fun Fact: Sebago lake is the deepest and second-largest lake in Maine, and serves as the drinking water supply for nearly 1/6 of Maine's population!
Why Migis?
Migis holds a very special place in both of our hearts! Growing up, Tara and her family went to Migis multiple times (see pics in the 'Photos' tab!) - and it quickly became one of the Carroll's favorite places to relax and recharge. In 2017, Tara spent the summer working as a Housekeeper at Migis; at one point or another, she has cleaned all of the cabins that you will be staying in! Tara and Otto visited together in the Fall of 2022 and Otto quickly fell in love with Migis just as much as Tara did - we can't wait for you to join us here on our special day!
Can I bring my kids with me?
To allow all guests to relax and enjoy themselves, we have chosen to make our wedding (and the weekend) adults-only (18+). We thank you for your understanding!
Why did you select these dates?
Our loved ones will be traveling from all over the country and world regardless of the day or location of the wedding. Because of this and venue requirements, we have decided to host the festivities spanning from Sunday afternoon through Tuesday morning.
Where else should we visit in Maine?
Since the wedding festivities start on Sunday, we highly recommend that you come up to Maine a day or two early to explore more of this beautiful state! Suggestions are located in "things to do", but we highly recommend checking out nearby Portland or Freeport!
What time does the ceremony start?
The ceremony will start at 3:45pm SHARP on Monday the 20th. Please arrive to the Lawn at 3:30 to find a seat.

Guests must stay on-property to utilize these amenities.
WHAT SHOULD I PACK?
Is there a dress code?
We want you to feel comfortable and confident! Please see the below and the home tab, where we have included dress code for each event. Let's be honest, dress codes can be extremely confusing so please do not hesitate to reach out to us with questions.
Lobster Bake
Festive Lakeside: For women, we would recommend more casual dresses or a dressy top paired with a skirt/pants. As for men, a dress shirt or nice sweater and slacks would be great! Please no shorts or jeans. Anything lobster-themed is more than welcome!
Wedding Ceremony and Reception
Semi-Formal Attire: We would recommend dresses of any length for the ladies and suits (no ties required) for the men. The ceremony will be held on grass - so please don't wear stilettos or anything you would be upset if it got a bit dirty!
Wedding After Party
Pajama Party: PJs, sweats, flannels or whatever you are comfortable wearing to party into the early morning hours!
What should we wear the rest of the weekend?
Casual! Wear whatever you are most comfortable in as you enjoy everything that Migis has to offer. We would recommend bringing a pair of boots or sneakers that you don't mind getting a bit dirty, a bathing suit if you want to enjoy the sauna/lake, and a nice warm jacket for the fall Maine evenings!
Can I bring my own snacks?
Of course! You can bring any drinks or snacks you might want to enjoy in your cabin - all rooms have mini-bars with fridges and ice is delivered daily.
What will the weather be?
The temperature is generally in low 60's during the day and gets cooler at night. Please make sure to check the local weather the week before!
What if it is cold or rainy?
We are planning on having the ceremony outside rain or shine - so please check the weather and pack accordingly! For brunch on Monday and Tuesday at Cookout Point - if the weather does not cooperate, these will be held in the Main Lodge.
